The obverse bears the third young head left, with W.W. raised on the truncation for engraver William Wyon; the reverse displays the crowned quartered shield of arms within a laurel wreath. An appealing example with minimal circulation wear, a die flaw to the left of the date, some surface marks on the obverse, and remaining lustre. The Latin legends translate as “Victoria by the Grace of God” and “Queen of the Britons, Defender of the Faith.” Calendar year mintage: 8,767,250.
